You determine whether there are any forces at work which alter fate for better or for worse. Spells in effect or items which give either bonuses or penalties are detected unless cloaked. Mundane alterations are automatically detected. The cleric is able to discern whether any given effect is positive or negative as well as its relative level of strength.

 

1st Round: Presence or absence of effects

2nd round: Number of effects and relative strength (i.e. weak, moderate, strong, overwhelming) of nearest effect

3rd Round: Exact strength of each effect

 

Gambler’s Luck (Alteration)

You gain a short streak of exceptional luck. If gambling with dice, gain a +4 on all outcomes. If cast on the cleric, gain a +2 on any one die roll within 30 minutes of casting the spell. You may declare the bonus after the die roll. The divine focus for the spell is a pair of ivory cubes with blank faces; these cost 1gp to create and are not consumed in the casting of the spell.

 

Slipsnare (Alteration)

You gain additional luck in avoiding traps and poison. The spell allows a +2 circumstance bonus to primary saving throws versus poison. Additionally, the spell grants a +1 circumstance bonus on all search, spot, and disable device checks made during its duration.

 

Balance Of Karma (Abjuration)

 

Level: Clr 3 (Serenca)

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Close (10 ft. + 10 ft./level)

Target:  Aura around cleric, 1 foot diameter per caster level

Duration: 1 minute/level or special

Saving Throw: None or Will negates

Spell Resistance: No

 

You can suppress the powers of ill fortune. All forces which can apply negative penalties to die rolls are suppressed within the area of effect. Effects still active when the duration expires resume normal function. Priests of Murphas receive a Will save to avoid this suppression.  The spell can be expended at any time to create a burst effect.  This use can be used to counterspell any curses within the area as a targeted dispel magic.

 

Kiss Of Serenca (Abjuration)

Duration: 30 minutes or until used

Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

 

You grant exceptional fortune to another. The recipient gains a +4 luck bonus which may be used at any time before the duration ends to alter a “to hit” or save roll from a failure into a success. This spell may not be used to augment damage.

 

Luck Of The Draw (Abjuration)

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: None

Target: Personal

Duration: 1 minute/level

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: No

 

A whirling blur of card shaped plaques of force surround you, giving you a 50% miss chance on both ranged and melee attacks. Spells which autotarget (e.g. magic missile) and area of effect attacks are not affected. The focus for this spell is a deck of blessed ivory plaques inlaid with silver.

 

Fortunato’s Parry (Abjuration)

 

Level: Clr 4 (Serenca)

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Close (20 ft.)

Target: One creature

Duration: 30 minutes or until used

Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)

Spell Resistance: No

 

Your luck can shield your allies from blows. As long as you are not caught flat-footed, you may make use of this spell to force a 20% miss chance on a blow that has already successfully hit. You may only use this power once per round per individual and only once for every three levels you have attained as a cleric. The material component for this spell is a rabbit’s foot.

 

Share Luck (Alteration)

Range: PersonalTarget: You (30 ft. radius)

Duration: 2 minutes/level

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: No

 

You may share your good fortune with others. For the spell’s duration, you may share the bonuses of any one personal spell or magic item with all allies within range. You may switch which effect is shared only at the beginning or each round. Each recipient acts as if the bonus were his own, ignoring space limits on magical items.  Effects still stack according to regular rules.  The focus for this spell is either the item or the holy symbol of Serenca.

 

Serendipity (Divination)

 

Level: Clr 5 (Serenca)

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Close (10 ft.)

Target: One creature

Duration: Instantaneous

Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)

Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

 

You donate your exceptional luck to another. The recipient may reroll a saving throw he has just failed provided you cast the spell in the same round as the failure. The spell requires a 1000gp diamond which is consumed in the casting. If the second save fails, the same result occurs as the first roll.
