This spell renders any home immune to the effects of fire (e.g., it cannot burn) for the duration of the spell. It provides no protection from secondary heat or inhalation effects. The material component is a piece of wet wool.

Area: 10 foot radius emanation/level upto one home

Duration: 1 day/level

Saving Throw: Will negates

Spell Resistance: Yes

 

This spell is placed upon the hearth of a home; it cannot be cast upon a business, inn, etc.. All within are protected from any whose intend to rob or harm the inhabitants. Any trespassers attempting to enter must make a Will save or be affected as per the sanctuary spell; those with an evil alignment suffer an additional -2 penalty. The divine focus of the spell is the rune of Averran inscribed upon the hearth.

 

Greater Sanctuary (Abjuration)

 

Level: 3

Components: V, S, DF

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: See below

Target: One creature per 2 levels of the caster no more than 10 feet apart

Duration: 10 minutes per level

Saving Throw: Will (Harmless)

Spell Resistance: No

 

As per the first level spell sanctuary, except it affects multiple targets and has extended duration.

 

Greater Firebreak (Abjuration) (Averran)

 

Level: 4

Components: V, S, M

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)

Area: One home per level, no more than 20 feet apart

Duration: 30 minutes per level

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: No

 

This spell is an improved form of firebreak, affecting multiple homes with one casting as per the lower level spell. The material component is a piece of wet wool.

 

Name Defiler (Divination) (Averran)

 

Level: 4

Components: V, S, DF

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Long (1 mile per level)

Target: Creature touched

Duration: 10 minutes per level

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: Yes

 

This spell identifies and scrys the location of any creature which has defiled the named victim. The recipient learns the name and location of the defiler and may hunt them down as long as they remain within spell range. This spell is usually granted to someone like the captain of the town guard but may also be given to a summoned monster. What happens to the defiler once located is not under the control of the caster. The divine focus for the spell is a holy symbol of Averran which guides the recipient.
