Mask of Shadows (Illusion [Shadow])

The cleric cloaks the recipient in shadow. In areas of complete light, this spell draws attention to itself. However, in other circumstances, it adds a + 4 circumstance bonus to all hide rolls, a +1 to AC, and a 10% miss chance from partial concealment. The material component for this spell is a cobweb taken from a shadowy corner.

 

Subdue Light (Transmutation)

Target: All light sources in a 30 ft. radius

Duration: 3 minutes/ level

Spell Resistance: No

 

The caster alters the lighting within the area of effect, dimming bright lights considerably. This spell does not function in full natural daylight. Else, it reduces illumination from all light sources in the area of effect by 75%. The material component for the spell is a square of gray cloth.

 

Dance of Shadows (Illusion [Figment])

The cleric creates shadowy images of the caster akin to mirror image (See that spell for details.). From 2-5 images are created and are indistinguishable from the caster in all but bright light. Bright light ends the spell immediately. Any physical or magical damage to an image immediately dispels it.

 

Shade's Sight (Transmutation)

The cleric bestows the power to see in shadow and darkness areas of heavy shadow and as if they were lit. Creatures under this spell gain darkvision to 60 feet, and when appropriate, low light vision as far as 120 feet. However, the recipient's eyes become severely sensitive to bright lights as a result, causing temporary blindness if anyone under this spell is subjected to any light brighter than torchlight. The equivalent of a light spell causes blindness for 1-2 rounds, a continual flame for 2-5 rounds; a successful Reflex Save, means the recipient closed his eyes in time and suffers no extended blindness. Full sunlight causes blindness for 3-12 rounds and permanent blindness if a Reflex Save is failed, meaning the recipient closed his eyes in time. The material component for this spell is the eye of an owl.

 

Flesh Ruse (Transmutation)

The caster takes on the physical form of another being that the caster has seen. If only a picture or verbal description is available, then the voice cannot be imitated; otherwise, the voice is also altered. The duplication is exact enough to fool magical effects tuned to the imitated form if the caster makes a successful Will Save. Only living creatures up to large in size can be imitated by this spell. The caster's belongings become part of the form and are not accessible for the spell's duration unless they are donned after the spell is cast. The caster gains no memories or knowledge of the form assumed. The material component is a piece of flesh taken from a dopplegangor.

 

Meld with Shadow (Transmutation)

The caster become one with any shadows in the area. His body becomes insubstantial while the spell effects lasts, granting the caster the benefits or incorporealness for the spell's duration. The caster moves at a speed of 240 feet, but is restricted to shadowy areas. The caster escapes notice by most creatures (Spot check to see, DC = 30) and will be ignored by most undead as if he were a shadow. The material component for this spell is a curl of smoke.

 

Fetch (Illusion [Phantasm])

Duration: 10 minutes + 1 minute/ level

Saving Throw: Will negates

Spell Resistance: Yes

 

The caster creates a being known as a fetch. A fetch is a creature that assumes the likeness of another being, but can only be seen by the caster and up to three other individuals named in the casting. The fetch interacts with the others that can see it as if it were a real being. The fetch seems to have all of the memories of the being it resembles. To others that cannot see the fetch, affected individuals appear to converse with nothing. A common use of the fetch is to trick individuals into giving up information by means of conversation with some trusted companion. Any spells which protect the mind from intrusion or reading will prevent that individual from seeing the fetch. In order for the caster to make a fetch, he must have in his possession some personal article of the being to be imitated or the whisker of a rakshasha. As rakshasha's whiskers are difficult to come by, the former component is usually chosen; however, a whisker bestows a - 4 circumstance penalty on the save.

 

Greater Flesh Ruse (Transmutation)

This spell conforms in all ways to flesh ruse except as above, and the caster can assume the form of non-living matter up to his own size. The material component is a piece of mimic's flesh.

 

Shadowboxing (Illusion [Shadow])

 

Level: Clr4 (Phantos)

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Close (30 ft.)

Target: One creature

Duration: 1 minute/ level

Saving Throw: Will negates

Spell Resistance: Yes

 

The caster animates his foe’s shadow to attack. If the target creature fails a Will Save, its own shadow rises up and attacks it. The animate has the same AC as the creature from which it was spawned. It attacks as the target creature would but gains no bonuses on damage from strength. Its chill touch does 2d4 in life drain for each successful attack. It has as many hit points as the caster at full strength. The spell ends when it or its founder are slain, the shadow is immersed in complete light or darkness, or the effect is dispelled.

 

Melt into Shadows (Transmutation)

 

Level: Clr5 (Phantos)

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Medium (120 ft.)

Target: 1 medium creature/ level in a 60 ft. diameter area

Duration: 2 minutes/ level + 1d4 minutes

Saving Throw: Will negates

Spell Resistance: Yes

 

All creatures named by the caster are absorbed by the shadows around them. Beings absorbed by the shadows retain all sensory abilities but are unable to interact with any physical object or move from the area of effect. Beings have no ability to speak or gesture, so cannot cast spells with verbal, somatic or material components. The caster can end this spell at will; absolute light or darkness also prematurely end this spell as does a dispel magic or an unbinding. This spell is useful for spying as well as temporarily removing multiple opponents for later dealings.

 

Veil of Shadows (Illusion [Shadow])

Target: One 5 ft. x ft. section/ level

Duration: 2 minutes/ level

Saving Throw: Fortitude partial

Spell Resistance: Yes

 

The caster creates a wavering wall of shadows that the caster can shape as desired. Force and electrical effects are harmlessly absorbed by the veil. Creatures passing through the wall are subjected to 2d12 points of life draining from the veil. A successful Fortitude Save halves damage.
