The caster summons any type of small bird out of thin air. Doves are often conjured as stage tricks with this orison.

The cleric creates a sudden, sharp downdraft of air. This spell causes missiles within its area to fall short of their intended targets and causes flying creatures caught within its area to make a Reflex Save or be subjected to a sudden loss of altitude. For creatures diving or near the ground, this can mean significant damage. The material component for this spell is a pebble.

 

Feather Pluck (Transmutation)

The caster strips arrows and/or quarrels of their guiding feathers, rendering them useless. A successful Will Save negates the spell's effects. The material component for this spell is an arrow, stripped as the caster works the spell.

 

Updraft (Evocation)

The cleric creates a sudden, sharp updraft of air. The gust is enough to boost the vertical climb of a flying creature by 20% of its movement rate. The spell causes missiles along its area to fly long of their intended targets. The material component for this spell is a dandelion seed.

 

Talons (Transmutation)

The cleric bestows a magical edge upon his hands or another who is the recipient of the spell. The recipient is considered armed when unarmed; each successful attack does a d6 points of slashing damage; at 10th level this damage increases to 2d6. If this spell is applied to a bird already possessing talons, the damage of the attack is increased by a d6 per 3 levels of the cleric above 3rd level (maximum 5d6). The material component for this spell is an eagle's feather.

 

Aerie (Transmutation)

The caster creates an extradimensional safehold similar in many ways to a ropetrick. The major difference is that there is no rope required for entrance to this space. The caster creates the spell in the air and needs only to walk into it. The caster may open and close the space by force of will, but must remain inside it once it is cast. The material component for this spell is the shed down of an eaglet.

 

Bird of Prey (Evocation [Force])

The cleric summons a bird-shaped force to attack his foe. The spell creates a hawk-shaped field of force which the cleric designates to attack one foe. Once designated, the bird cannot change its target. The hawk hovers above its target, making a diving attack every round, beginning the round after its creation. The hawk gains a +3 initiative bonus. The force attacks using the ranged attack rating of the cleric. Each successful strike inflicts 2d4+2 points of damage. The hawk is impervious to weaponry and spells but can be destroyed by a dispel magic or blocked with a shield or stronger magics.

 

Stonebirds (Conjuration [Calling]; Transmutation)

Target: 2d4 birds

The cleric summons birds to fight on her behalf, transforming them into stone. The spell summons the equivalent of normal eagles, transforming them into stone. The cleric may then send them against his foes. Each bird has AC17, 7hp, and melee +3, attacking once per round for 1d3 points of pecking damage. Alternately, the cleric can direct the birds to dive foes at +2 bonus. A successful hit does double damage but destroys the bird. When the spell expires, any remaining birds disappear. The material components for this spell are a chip of marble and an eagle’s feather.

 

Tanglewing (Evocation)

Duration: 2 minutes + 1 minute/ level

Saving Throw: Reflex negates

Spell Resistance: Yes

 

The caster creates a magical binding around a target's wings. If a Reflex Save versus magic is failed, the target's wings are tied together and useless for flying. A successful save negates the spell. The strength of the bindings are such that they will destroy the wings of the creature if it tries to force its way free. The bindings are immune to normal weaponry but are subject to magical attack. Once the bindings take more than 2hp per caster level, they dissipate. Of course, the target may well be damaged in the destruction of the bindings depending on the magic used to harm them. The material component for this spell is a piece of wet leather cord.

 

Ground (Enchantment [Charm])

The caster causes every creature within the area of effect to alight upon the nearest solid surface at its fastest movement rate and stay there for the spell's duration. Magical spells or abilities bestowing flight are cancelled as soon as the recipient touches the ground. Objects granting similar powers are nonfunctional for the spell's duration. This effect can be removed by a successful dispel magic or by the will of the caster. The caster has the option of exempting himself and one other creature from the spell's effects. The material component for this spell is a lead weight tied to a piece of string.

 

Zoom (Transmutation)

This spell is an improved version of fly. It allows the recipient to move at a speed of 160 feet (120 feet in medium or heavy armor). The recipient’s maneuverability increases to good, or if already good, to perfect. The material component for this spell is a hummingbird feather.

 

Skyward (Enchantment [Charm])

Target: 15 ft. radius sphere / 4 levels

Duration: 10 minutes/ level

This spell is a more potent version of the ground spell. All creatures within its confines have all means of flying instantly negated. If this happens above ground, then falling damage applies. Creatures entering the area after it is cast are allowed a save. If the save is successful, then the creature senses the loss of aerial ability before it completely ends and may elect to not enter the area of effect. However, it the creature still opts to enter the area, all means of flying cease to function. The caster may only opt to protect himself from the spell's effects. The material component is the caster's holy symbol and a gold anchor worth 50gp.

 

Phoenixfire (Evocation [Fire])

Spell Resistance: Yes

 

The caster uses his lifeforce to fuel a searing fire filling the area of effect. For each hp the caster opts to use to fuel the spell, 2hp of fire damage are generated. These hit points are lost immediately. The caster is immune to the effects of his own fire and can be healed as long as any hit points remain after the fire burns out. A successful Fortitude Save halves damage. Non-magical objects exposed to phoenixfire are consumed without a save. Magical objects must save versus the magical fire or be destroyed. If the caster desires to burnout as the classical phoenix, then he may elect to use hit points all the way to -11. At which point, the caster is himself consumed to ash and is only restorable through the use of a wish. The material component for this spell is a phoenix feather and a fire opal of 5000gp value.
