Description:

 

There are no depictions of Phantos other than a eyes peering from a swirling shadow.

 

History/Relationships:

 

Phantos is both loved and hated by all the gods. He believes the only good secret is one worth telling, unless it is one of his own. He prides himself on infiltration and spying and knows the most intimate plans of the gods, usually letting word leak into the ears of those best suited to thwart them.

 

Dogma:

 

The only good secret is one worth telling, unless its one of your own. Be my eyes and ears in the mortal realms. Mix and mingle among all races, clans, and creeds. The best place to hide yourself is in plain sight. The more protected an object is, the greater the challenge to reach it. Thwart evil using good and good using evil. Let the balance remain by causing chaos within law and law within chaos.

 

Clergy and Temples:

 

Phantos has no temples. His worshippers meet in different places and only sporadically to share relevant information. To worship Phantos is to live a continual lie. Your true name and appearance are your most closely guarded secrets. Even when meeting among themselves, his clergy remain masked or disguised. Phantos accepts men and women of all races into his worship. Clerics of Phantos never reveal the whole truth in any statement they make except with each other. Phantos has no holy symbol of his own, instead allowing his clerics to use any holy symbol to draw upon his power. Clerics of Phantos exist in all echelons of society and are thought to even be impersonating the priests of other deities! No secret society remains a secret to them for long. From their many places in society, clerics of Phantos watch and learn, passing on what they gather to each other and distributing rumors where they will cause chaos in the plans of others. The only way a cleric of Phantos is recognizable is by the divine magic he/she uses. Once a cleric is found out, he/she disappears to assume another identity.

 

Special Abilities:

 

Phantos’ priests gain additional special abilities as they progress in their dedication to the Shadowlord. Unless otherwise specified, these powers are supernatural abilities usable at will by the caster only. Phantos’ priests may take disguise, hide and bluff as class skills.

 

3rd level – May take bluff, disguise and hide as a class skills

5th level – misdirection (1/day)

9th level – major image (1/day)

12th level – mislead (1/day)

 

Sacred prayers to Phantos:

 

Phantos make special prayers available to those who worship him.  He also is know to grant spells only granted by other dieties.
