Description:

Myk is depicted as a withered crone covered in scabs and sores. She stands in a litter of bones and corpses. She bears a scourge.

History/Relationships:

Myk has no permanent allies. She shares interests with Crylla, Mylore, Garrotongue, and Rakoth but does not work with them. Recently, Myk has begun making overtures to Endrigoth to join forces in using his children to spread disease and suffering. It is speculated that the rapid spread of Gravescourge in the northlands may be the first fruits of their unholy alliance. Myk opposes Tirith at every opportunity.

Dogma:

Life is suffering and pain, a prelude to death. Pray to Myk to lessen your agony. Plant the seeds of disease among non-believers that they may come to know the price of not praising Myk. Intercede for those who pay dearly that Myk may spare them a little more time to suffer in the mortal realm.

Clergy and Temples:

Organized temples to Myk are rare in non-evil lands. Mykans are not unknown among the peoples, however. Shrines exist in most cities where worshippers leave tokens, and Mykans set up occasionally in market places to advise the sick and accept monies for intercession. Those who steal from Myk’s shrines or priests are soon struck down with a fatal disease; likewise, those areas which deny the presence of Mykans are often visited by some sort of plague.  Mykans seldom multiclass, but when they do, fighter and rogue are the most common choices. Myk accepts both sexes into her worship as well as any race. Humanoid clerics of Myk are not uncommon. She sponsors a small, but zealous, sect of blackguards known as maladons who deliver the wrath of Myk as she decrees.  Mykans pray for spells in the evening as the sun dies. Nothing is known of ritual worship; Mykans are not forthcoming with those details.

Special Abilities:

Myk grants additional power to her favored priests.

Mykans get a +4 divine bonus on all saves against contracting disease. If the save is successful, the cleric becomes a carrier but suffers no ill effects or outward signs.

3rd level –  The cleric gains a +2 bonus on checks to identify and treat diseases.

5th level –  The cleric may cast contagion (1/day).

9th level –   The cleric may inflict Mummy rot by touch (1/day) for a number of rounds equal to his Wis modifier.

12th level – The cleric may cast plague (1/day). This ability mimics contagion  in all ways except is affects every creature within a 10 ft. radius per

                      caster level.

Rituals:

Myk is not known to grant rituals to her followers, but this has not been verifiable.
