Upon utterance of this word of power, the mage commands the air within the area of effect to smite his foes. The caster may choose which creatures or objects are affected or unaffected by this spell. All affected creatures within the area of effect take a d6+1 of damage per caster level (maximum 20d6 + 20) and be dazed for 2-5 rounds. A successful Reflex Save halves damage and negates dazing. There are no resistances to this spell other than spell resistance.

 

Gauntlet of Flame Abjuration

Target: The caster

Duration: 1 day or until discharged

This spells brings a magical force resembling a flaming gauntlet to cover one of the casters hands and forearm (caster’s choice). While the gauntlet is in place, it draws fiery attacks to itself, granting the caster the effects of a protection from elements [fire]. the gauntlet can absorb a maximum of 1 level of fire spell as potential energy per caster level.  Even area of effect spells like fireball and meteor swarm are drawn to the gauntlet rather than causing damage to the target area.  The caster can release this stored spell energy as a fireball once per round as a full action utilizing as much of the stored potential as the caster wishes.  Once the gauntlet has released all of its stored potential, it dissipates harmlessly, even if it could have held more capacity at a later time. If the gauntlet is overloaded by an attack, the remaining damage is visited on the caster only. The material components for the spell are a gauntlet made from finest leather, 1000gp of powdered fire opal, a lodestone, and a drop of red dragon’s blood.

 

Gorgon's Gaze (Transmutation)

The mage gains the gaze attack of a medusa for the spell’s duration. Range is determined by lighting conditions, and area of effect is dependent upon line of sight. Note also that the spellcaster can be petrified by his own reflected gaze. The material component for this spell is the eye of a medusa.

 

Suffocation Transmutation

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Close (10 ft./ level)

Target: 30 foot diameter sphere

Duration: 1 minute/ 2 caster levels

Saving Throw: Fortitude partial

Spell Resistance: Yes

 

The caster creates a bound globe of airless space. Any living creature within its confines must make a Fortitude Save with a –4 circumstance penalty or fall unconscious from the lack of oxygen. Holding one’s breath is of no help, for the dweomer pulls air out of lungs. Those failing the save will die on the following round unless air is provided to them. Creatures saving retain consciousness, but must flee the sphere or fall unconscious on the following round. The limits of the sphere are invisible to the unaided eye, so creatures can wander into it. The undead and outsiders are unaffected by this spell, as are constructs. A character employing a spell or item which negates the need to breathe is immune to this spell. The material component for this spell is a hollow glass globe containing a vacuum.
