If the caster fails to activate the curse, it automatically activates on its final day of duration. If the target fails a Will Save, it suffers sustained misfortune over a period of one day. During this time:• all "to hit", damage and initiative rolls suffer a -2 penalty• all saving throws suffer are made at -2• the charisma of the victim is temporarily reduced by 4 points• the victim must make a Reflex Save in every round of melee or trip. All the while the spell runs its course, the victim will feel uncomfortable and feels an inner sense of impending doom. A remove curse or break enchantment will remove this spell, but a dispel magic will not.

Brownout (Transmutation)
Level: Clr 5 (Murphas)
Components: V, S, DF
Range: Medium (120 ft. + 10 ft./level)

The cleric minimizes his foes’ prowess in battle. Each target failing a Will Save is unable to do more than minimum damage with any successful attack. For example, a fighter with an 18 STR, a +3 longsword, and weapon specialization attacks the cleric after being successfully attacked by the brownout spell. Each successful hit does 10 points [3 (sword plus) + 4 (STR) + 2 (specialization) + 1 (sword variable damage)] of damage. An affected spellcaster would do minimum damage, minimum duration, and minimum range on all spells cast. Spells prepared with the metamagic feats are unaffected. The material component for this spell is the cleric's holy symbol.
Deathcurse (Enchantment)
Level: Clr 5 (Murphas)
Components: V, S, M
Range: Personal
Target: Cleric’s slayer
Casting Time: 1 day
Duration: Until used or dispelled
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
The cleric prepares a curse for the being who slays him. A curse similar in power to bestow curse is devised in advance by the cleric and effects the creature who slays him. The slayer must make a successful Will Save at -4 or contract the curse. Raising the cleric from the dead automatically dispels the deathcurse, and the target gains this knowledge. The deathcurse can also be removed by a caster at least one level higher than the cleric using either remove curse or break enchantment. The material component for this spell is a small silver mirror of finest craftsmanship (1000gp) which cracks when the caster dies.
