Description:

 

Ceiwen is depicted as a woman in her 20’s, with a weathered tan and braided, brown hair. She wears hunter’s leathers and carries a composite longbow. Her background is the waxing moon. An animal sometimes is displayed at her feet protruding arrows, usually a stag.

 

History/Relationships:

 

Ceiwen is the daughter of Dana, and she carries the fire of her mother in her veins. Ceiwen is allied with Sha’Harrai, and they happily share the night as sisters; Ceiwen taking the ground and Sha’Harrai the skies, She is an casual ally of Cernan as she enjoys the sports of beasts but also represents responsible hunting. Lastly, she is friends with Merleau, incorporating water into her worship. Ceiwen opposes Galadan and avaia as well as the Chtons. They represent unnatural aspects of nature. However, rather then consider them enemies, she considers them prey. She is disliked by Averran for her liberal views on women’s roles in childbearing and the home, but she bears no ill will towards Averran.

 

Dogma:

 

Women are not the objects of men. The moon guides a woman’s life, not the bearing of a child. Be free and enjoy the wilds. Be the huntress, not the hunted, the pursuer, not the prey. You are above the rulings of men. Rejoice with your sisters in the pleasures of nature.

 

Clergy and Temples:

 

No temples of Ceiwen will be found in cities. Her temples are groves located in the wilds, normally forested areas. A pool with a running spring is central to all of Ceiwen’s groves. Men are forbidden to set foot in these sacred places; those who do forfeit their lives. Ceiwen accepts only women into her worship and only virgins. In joining with the Huntress, her clergy take a vow against the touch of men. The few stories of men who were able to force themselves on Ceiwen’s faithful end in horrible revenge. Her clergy all learn mastery of the bow, taking it instead of a cleric’s standard weaponry. They dress is natural colors and prefer leather armor. Her clergy sometimes multiclass as druids or rangers. They pray for spells at moonrise. Ceiwen worship is centered on the grove and the hunt.  Bathing beneath the filling moon and song begin all worship ceremonies, usually followed by a hunt.

 

Special Abilities:

 

Ceiwen’s priestesses gain additional special abilities as they progress in their dedication. Unless otherwise specified, these powers are supernatural abilities usable at will by the caster only.

 

3rd level – the cleric gains Tracking as a bonus feat

7th level – the cleric gains the feat Weapon Specialization (Bow only)

9th level – The cleric gains flame arrow (1/day)

12th level -- The cleric gains darkvision if she did not possess it or doubled range if she did

Ceiwen offers special prayers to her faithful.

Ceiwen offers no rituals to those outside her worship.
